Sand, which is abundant and widespread on our planet Earth planet, constitutes raw material suitable for many industries such as fibers used in the manufacturing of planes and cars. In addition, sand is a raw material used in the production of electronic chips, soap, glass, rubber, paint, ceramics, metal castings, construction of buildings and purification process and treatment of water.
Sand, especially if pure, can be treated to make Silica (SiO2) which is widely demanded in the production of photo cells (used in calculators and solar cells for the conversion of solar energy to electricity. This material is economical because is cheaply produced , abundant, light in weight and strong. For such reasons, there are plans to make good use of such raw materials in initializing factories and in developing prosperous industries in Egypt to create new job opportunities and increase national industrial output instead of just exporting raw materials and particularly sand to other countries.
I do hope that developing countries will become more advanced technologically, economically and socially.
